As a parent you can be so lost in your to-do's and keeping all the plates spinning that you forget to connect with your feelings.

That spark of joy or pull in your gut or niggling fear is there as a giant highlighter pen guiding you and helping you understand yourself better.

Take 5-minutes a day to check-in or reflect on how you're feeling:

1- What are you feeling? (and why?)
2- Where in your body can you feel it?
3- How would you describe it to someone who can't feel it?

When you have a mindset block or a limiting belief (I can guarantee one just jumped into your head), starting with your feelings around it can give you a lot of information.

Feelings are part of being human, so maybe it's time to figure out what they're trying to tell you?

This is a careful balance of knowing your core values, beliefs and attitudes, but also knowing how to use them as a compass when you interact with the world.

I'd invite you to take 15 minutes out of your day today to explore your core self.

* Do you feel comfortable in your own company?
* Do you live by your core values and beliefs or do you keep them quiet to fit in or keep the status quo?
* Are you able to come home to yourself and use yourself as a stabling element when something rocks your boat?

These explorations can throw up a myriad of thoughts and pain points. If you'd like to get some free coaching on these reflections DM me to be first on the list when I next offer these sessions.

When you don't have a plan it can be invigorating, exciting and freeing. But, for you it might be the opposite.

Do you feel lost, without a clear idea what you're doing or unachored? I know from experience that this can nibble away at confidence, self-belief and trust.

If you can identify with those feelings then here's 3 ways to start small and get a plan started:

1- What one goal would you like to achieve this week? Brain dump ideas then pick only one.

2- Break that task down into 7 smaller chunks or actions. One for each day of your week.

3- Ringfence time in your diary to achieve these mini goals.

If you want to be proficient in the art of being yourself then ditch self-awareness as an idea!

Self-awareness underpins growth work because it forces you to make informed evaluations of your 'self'.

It sounds heavy (and jeepers it can be at times!), but it can also be fun. Here's 3 ways to bring a lighter, more creative note to self-awareness:

1) Make a bucket list or #22for2022 list like @gretchenrubin

2) Ask a friend 3 words they'd use to describe you. Then reflect on that and whether you agree.

3) Challenge yourself to label the last emotion you experienced. Then journal, paint, dance or go for a walk whilst thinking on that emotion and experience of it.
